1. Accountability & Follow-Through

Residents should not have to chase City Hall for answers.

Too often, people raise concerns and are left wondering what happened next. I believe residents deserve clear communication, timely updates, and plain-language explanations of decisions that affect their neighbourhoods.

As councillor, I would focus on:

• Clear updates on major Ward 8 issues

• Plain-language explanations of important Council decisions

• Following up after residents raise concerns

• Asking hard questions before decisions are made

• Making sure residents know what is being done, why it is being done, and what happens next

My commitment:
I will not only listen. I will report back and follow through.

2. Better Value for Tax Dollars

Property taxes are a real concern for residents.

I will not make unrealistic promises just to sound good during an election. But I do believe residents are paying more and deserve to see real value in return.

City and Regional spending should be questioned carefully, explained clearly, and tied to services residents actually see and use.

That includes:

• Safer streets

• Cleaner public spaces

• Reliable local services

• Better infrastructure planning

• Responsible spending decisions

• Clearer communication about where tax dollars go

Growth, inflation, infrastructure, policing, and Regional costs all affect property taxes. Residents deserve councillors who are willing to examine those costs seriously and explain the trade-offs honestly.

My commitment:
I will ask whether spending is producing real results for residents, not just whether money is being spent.

3. Safer Streets & Better Traffic Flow

Traffic safety is one of the everyday issues that affects almost every resident.

Ward 8 families deal with speeding, congestion, unsafe crossings, school-zone concerns, pedestrian safety issues, and roads that do not always feel designed for the way people actually live and move through the community.

I want to see practical action on:

• Speeding in residential areas

• School-zone safety

• Pedestrian safety

• Dangerous driving

• Congestion on key corridors

• Traffic flow around busy plazas, schools, parks, and community spaces

• Better planning when new development adds pressure to existing roads

Traffic is not just an inconvenience. It affects safety, stress, commute times, family life, and quality of life.

My commitment:
I will push for practical, local solutions that make Ward 8 safer and easier to move through.

4. Growth That Works for Residents

Mississauga is growing, but growth must be planned properly.

Development cannot be approved in isolation from the daily impact on residents. New growth must be matched with roads, transit, parking, parks, schools, public spaces, stormwater infrastructure, and local services.

Residents should not be expected to absorb the pressures of growth without seeing the supports that make growth livable.

I believe City Hall must ask:

• Does the infrastructure support this growth?

• What will be the traffic impact?

• Are there enough parks and community spaces?

• How will this affect existing neighbourhoods?

• Are residents being consulted early enough?

• Who pays for the cost of growth?

My commitment:
I support responsible growth that respects existing communities and improves quality of life, not growth that leaves residents dealing with the consequences afterward.

5. A Thriving Ridgeway Plaza That Works for Everyone

Ridgeway Plaza is one of the most unique places in Ward 8.

It is a business hub, a cultural destination, and a gathering place for many communities. I believe we should recognize and support its value.

At the same time, nearby residents have raised serious concerns about traffic, parking, noise, garbage, safety, and enforcement. Those concerns should be taken seriously.

This should not be framed as residents versus businesses, or one community versus another. Everyone benefits when the plaza is safe, clean, welcoming, and well-managed.

I believe the City needs a balanced approach that includes:

• Supporting local businesses

• Improving traffic and parking management

• Addressing cleanliness and garbage concerns

• Respecting nearby residents’ quality of life

• Coordinating enforcement fairly and consistently

• Planning ahead for busy periods and major gatherings

• Keeping residents and business owners informed

My commitment:
I will support Ridgeway Plaza as a vibrant community destination while working toward practical solutions that respect businesses, visitors, and neighbours.
